APT has developed an unprecedented product through integrating multiple separators, seals, and MEAs into a module, namely Xell®. One Xell® module is composed of twelve cells that provides power over 3.6kW. Xell® is expandable and can readily and easily assemble for fuel cell stacks of different powers, which could provide various fuel cell products to meet many different needs in the market at low cost.
Xell® is suitable for fuel cell stacks of the power range from 10kW to 120kW, which is flexibly expanded according to customer needs. With standardized inlet/outlet manifold plates, current collector plates, seals, and fasteners, Xell® can be assembled for stacks of different power, which is used in multiple applications and scenarios.
Xell® has a complete supporting of the balance of stack (BOS) components, including manifold plates, end plates, current collector plates, fasteners, seals, cell voltage monitoring modules, etc. All BOSs are designed for Xell®, which can save time for customers in developing their own stack.
The horizontal stack assembly machine keeps the stack assembly in the same orientation as its operation to reduce the gravity effect on the stack performance. With the exclusive fixture and BOSs for Xell®, customers can easily assemble the fuel cell stack according to their requirement. Customers can also design BOSs, fixtures, and housings by themselves to make their specific stacks.
ECOSEAL® is the world's first application of environment-friendly rubber to the production of fuel cell seals, which is . made by bio-ethylene extracting from sugarcane. The use of ECOSEAL® not only reduces the dependence on petroleum but also greatly reduces the life-cycle carbon footprint of the fuel cell stack.
Xell® modules use metal separator, which are easier to mass produce than graphite plates. In addition, Xell® uses integrated curring technology to greatly shorten the process time. Moreover, the assembly of module for a stack is simple, which not only greatly improve the assembly accuracy of the stack but also and shorten the assembly time.
