Core Competency

Fuel Cell Supply Chain

The commercialization of fuel cells is slower than that of Li-ion batteries because of its higher technical barriers. The lithium-ion battery supply chain starts from raw materials, goes through components, battery cells, and battery packs, and then EVs. The specialization of each division in the chain is very clear and balanced. However, the fuel cell supply chain lacks the classification of "battery cells". Therefore, the leap from components to fuel cell stacks has formed a considerable technical barrier in between.

Business Model

APT is positioned as a "cell supplier", that is, components such as separators, seals and MEAs are made into Xell® cell modules that are supplied to downstream stack developers. The launch of Xell® has reshaped the fuel cell supply chain, i.e., separating the "cell" from the "stack" in the supply chain, thus reducing the technical barrier of the "stack". It can realize the best distribution of value among the companies in the supply chain, and become a veritable value chain. Car-making new forces in the fuel cell industry will upsurge again based on the value chain.

Core Competency

Five core competencies of Xell® are as follows:
1. High Value
2. Diversity
3. Scarcity
4. Hard to Copy
5. Irreplaceable
